Albums are arranged here from oldest at the top, to most recent at the bottom. I would start at the bottom and work up...
Vanity Is My Sanity was recorded in 2005, but is a collection of songs culled from two unreleased albums, In Carpenter Days, and Vanity Is My Sanity, both written between 1998 and 2001.
(Meet Me At) The Boxwood Lodge was written in the fall of 2003, in almost one sitting, and was recorded on a Fostex four-track with Matt Hopkins doing a little slide work now and again. Includes classics like Three Black Dogs, Nylon, Chop 'Em Down, and of course, (Meet Me At) The Boxwood Lodge.
Spook Rock written in 2004. The flu was a big influence on these tracks. Four of the ten songs on this seventy minute LP clock in at or beyond ten minutes. Includes classics Rock N Roll, Dwayne Sueño, Workin' On The Range, and Love Across The Ocean.
The Field Trip To The Fox Farm songs were written from 1998 to 2002, but were performed live by the band, The Fox Farm (Louis on guitar, Tucker Dalton on drums, and Matt Hertzberg on synth, with occasional help from Matt Casuccio on bass, and Matt Hopkins and John Gnorski on guitars). These versions were recorded half on four track in January '00 or '01, and half during the Spook Rock sessions .Perhaps you are holding a copy of the album that contains the Nude Reunion take of Wild Things (Mummy).
A Con actor Xmas was recorded in the fall of 2004 with Robert Anders, an excellent professional musician who has many albums to his credit and who plays professionally in and around Asheville, NC. Also with Anna Raupp and Matt Hertzberg on vocals. this album is all covers except for the Louis song, You Must Miss Xmas Much, taken from The Boxwood Lodge.
East Asheville and West Asheville are two EPs released together in the winter of 2005. The first Louis original all pro tools album, East Asheville is electronic and vocoder heavy, West Asheville is fairly folk-rocky. Includes the smash hits Legpit Sexcapades and Fisherman's Daughter.
Nude Reunion (2006) is a rocker recorded by a band that only ever played one show.
Alex Mignolo on drums and vocals, Matt Hertzberg on synth, bass and vocals, and Louis playing guitar and singing.
8080 A.D. (2006) is a collection of Nude Reunion outtakes, recorded during practice, of songs the boys made up on the spot. They might've borrowed some ideas in a coupla places...
'Louis Munroe' (2008) was written and recorded in upstate New York. Lots of help from John Gnorski on instruments. Tucker Dalton says it's the best one yet, but he mixed it, so who knows... Mastered by Greg Davis in Burlington. Front photo and design by Matt Hertzberg.
